about

This is my New England Fall (2013) album, and it is the sixth SWARMCAT album. The central theme of the album is location and relation, as in, current location in relation to previous location, desired location. It's interesting that despite the stupendous amount of communications media we have at our fingertips, we can still find ourselves stuck, down and out, out of touch in a place (literal or metaphysical) we aren't satisfied with. This album is also about literally being down (physically on the ground) and looking OUT, at all the layers around us: our neighbors, our neighborhoods, our city, our state and country, our planet, our solar system, and the universe around us. Everyone has their own layers, and we cross into many layers every day whether inadvertently or intentionally. Among a few other things, the tracks in the album, as well as the titles and samples, reflect the different physical and digital layers I have in my life, and the layer overlap I share with the people in my life.
